Principles.

I believe that behavioral health therapy allows individuals the freedom, privacy and safety
to express themselves without judgement, interruption, nor distraction.

I try to give my clients a safe and comfortable environment where they feel free to let down their defenses to allow themselves to reveal their unexpressed feelings. Only then can the client truly look at what is serving them and what needs to be let go.

For Clients.

Our lives are busy, yet we take time to eat, sleep, work and find the time to work out or enjoy hobbies. Very few of us make time for our mental health. With so much going on with work and family how can we spare an hour to do what? Talk?

It is amazing how many people think they are not worth the few minutes in a day to discuss what is bothering them. Some of the issues may be big and some may be small, but unless we are given a chance to let it go it will fester.

I am sure all of you have had a time that you blew up for no apparent reason. Or maybe you are the type that will stuff your emotions until you can't handle them so you drink, overeat, cut, binge and purge, over exercise, view pornography, gamble or anything else, but talk about what is bothering you.

Please find someone you feel safe with to share your problems. It can be your religious leader, a good friend, a helpline or a therapist. But find someone because you only have one life, that I am aware of, and it would be a shame to waste it.

For Parents.

For many parents, child therapy is generally not an easy topic to discuss. Unfortunately, there are many difficult and even traumatic issues that children encounter that a qualified professional can help them deal with.

I emphasize positive coping skills, boosting the child's self-confidence, and other positive traits while addressing the parent and child's concerns.
Whether the child is participating in play therapy, behavioral therapy, or an expressive therapy, all can provide them with opportunities to over come the challenges they face.
